CONSULATION NOW CLOSED - awaiting the results from the DFT.

05-Jan-2009: The DfT have released the Electric Personal Vehicle (EPV) consultation. The consultation seeks public views on whether the law should be changed so as to permit small electric personal vehicles, non-compliant with existing road traffic law, to be used on the vehicular carriageway of public roads and/or on cycle tracks. This includes (but is not limited to) Segway Personal Transporters.

What do you need to do?

Fill in the electronic response document and send the completed form to the DfT either by email or post by the 30th March 2010.

Segway - This is Segway INC's official response.

Pre-ticked - This version contains the boxes you would want to tick if you support the use of Segway PTs on roadways and cycle lanes (treating a Segway PT essentially as if it were a bicycle). If you hold this view, download this "pre-ticked" version, in which you simply need to add your name and address to it, before sending it to the address noted below. Feel free to amend/add your own comments, etc.
